Community Distribution of High-Efficiency Light Bulbs, a collaborative effort by the University of Florida, Gainesville Regional Utilities, Publix and Earth Givers
60 watt incandescent light bulbs were proactively replaced with 13 watt Compact Fluorescent (CFLs) bulbs in a community wide staged initiative. This achieves a 47 watt reduction in energy consumed per hour of bulb use.
The energy reduction multiplied by the carbon coefficient results in GHG emission reductions.
