Food and organic waste diversion through aerobic compost process
Custom Agricultural Intelligence Inc’s project works on the diversion of food and organic waste from the landfill and its conversion to quality composted fertilizer products. The food and organic residuals are aerobically composted in-vessel to produce valuable fertilizer. In the absence of the project activities, the waste would undergo anaerobic decomposition in landfill, emitting a lot of methane into atmosphere. Therefore, GHG emissions reduction is achieved by diversion of food and organic waste from the landfill and avoidance of methane emission caused by anaerobic decomposition.
