Project Description
Aluminium slab is manufactured at Rio Tinto’s Bell Bay smelter and New Zealand Aluminium Smelter (NZAS) to create aluminium semi-fabricated products, such as rolled coils. Aluminium slabs are to be further processed into aluminum semi-fabricated products for several uses in various sectors such as building and construction (e.g., building roofs, sidings, wall plates, furniture and decorations, bridge and stadium components), transportation (e.g., automobile components, truck and trailer components, train components, aircraft components), packaging (e.g., beverage containers), and consumer durables (e.g., computers, home appliances, and recreation devices, and utilities). Please note there was an amendment to this EPD on January 13, 2022.
