Step 1 Complete and submit the Reductions Registry Application Form along with the GHG Report and Verification Report [$200]
Step 2 Public Review of the Project [$500]
The GHG Report and the Verification Report are posted for a 30-day public review period.
During this time, the GHG Report and the Verification Report can be downloaded from the web site and the public is able to make comments via an online e-mail form. The project proponents will be notified of any comments received for their consideration. This may result in an agreement by the proponents to revise the GHG Report and the Verification Report before final posting. For details on the Registration Protocol for Emission Reduction Projects and the associated annual RERs please go to the Project Review Protocol Page. We do not guarantee that this process will result in the registration of a project.
Having successfully completed this process, the Project will then be assigned a registration number and posted in the Reductions Registry.
Step 3 Serializing and updating ownership of Verified Emission Reductions [$0.05/tonne]
The verified emission reductions associated with the project may be serialized at a fee of $0.05/tonne. By submitting the completed Reductions Registry Notice of Registry Account Instructions each tonne of reduction is given a separate registration number and is posted in the Reductions Registry.
For RERs that have changed ownership, or are retired, the update section of Reductions Registry Notice of Registry Account Instructions is to be completed and submitted.
Step 4 Updating the project with new or updated documentation - fee outlined in the Notice of Registry Account Instructions
As the status of the documentation, the Project and/or the RERs changes, the Notice of Registry Account Instructions may require completion and submission multiple times.
